Tractor Supply Opens in Phillipsburg

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ – The largest rural lifestyle retailer nationally opened its doors in Pohatcong Township today, June 25, 2022. This is the third store in Warren County and adds to the rural character of the county. Other locations include Blairstown and Washington, NJ.

With a parking lot full of trucks and shoppers as of 11:00 AM, TAPinto Phillipsburg found a friendly staff greeting you and offering to help you shop. Customer service. Just when you thought it wasn’t around, we found it immediately once entering the store. We were greeted by nearly every employee, stopping by to check out the opening. “Welcome to Tractor Supply, Can we help you find anything?” – now that doesn’t happen too often today.

Tractor Supply Co. moved into the 30,000-square-foot space that was vacated by Toys ‘R’ Us at Pohatcong Plaza along Route 22 in Pohatcong Township, Phillipsburg, NJ. The building has been empty since 2018 when Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us announced plans to close their 800 stores nationally.

According to their website, Tractor Supply is “serving its unique niche, targeting the needs of recreational farmers, ranchers and all those who enjoy living the rural lifestyle, for more than 80 years”.  As of March 26, 2022, the Company operated 2,003 Tractor Supply stores in 49 states, a customer mobile app and an e-commerce website at www.TractorSupply.com.

What can you buy at Tractor Supply Company?

Everything except tractors. At TSC, customers find everything they need to maintain their farms, ranches, homes, and animals. As the inventors of the “do it yourself” trend, they note their customers handle practically every chore, from repairing wells to building fences, welding gates together, constructing feed bins, taking care of livestock and pets, repairing tractors and trucks and building trailers for hauling.

Community Overview

According to their website, Tractor Supply is proud to be part of the "Out Here" lifestyle. Their mission to work hard, have fun and make money supports their commitment to giving back to the communities they serve and making a difference.

“Our rural lifestyle is a celebration of independence. Self-reliance is a source of great pride, but the "do it yourself" attitude doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. The spirit of neighbor helping neighbor, exemplified by traditional barn raisings, is the foundation of life Out Here. This commitment to each other, to "being there" for our neighbors and friends, is what sustains us through good times and bad.

Our community values have earned the trust of the folks we serve. They’ve also earned us a reputation for service that goes "The Country Mile." But service means more than helping customers save time and money. It means serving our communities and supporting the programs that strengthen them.

To ensure we are helping the people we care most about - our customers and Team Members - we focus our corporate giving on four areas: AgriculturePets & AnimalsCommunity and Veterans Causes.”
